The Williamston Buckpole

The Williamston Area Chamber of Commerce is currently planning for the Fourth Annual Williamston Buck Pole to be held in 2011.  Hunters from the mid-Michigan area and their families will be joining us at Merindorf Meats in Williamston as they have for the past three years.  It’s been a true pleasure to see grandfathers, sons, fathers, mothers, and daughters passing on their family tradition from generation to generation.

The crowds so far have totaled approximately 1,200 people and over $7,000 in prizes have been given away. In 2011, we expect to outdo ourselves once again!

Event Times and Dates: November 15th, 20th, and 27th from 3:00pm to 9:00pm each night.

Official Rules

The cost to enter the contest is $10 per deer.  Scoring will be in line with Boone & Crockett “gross” standards.  All deer scored will only be scored once.  Hunters must obey all local ordinances regarding possession of weapons in city limits.  All entries must be legally tagged and completely field-dressed.  All deer must have been harvested in the legal 2011 hunting season. Hunters must provide information about the area, time, and person who harvested the deer.  Deer brought in must be hung on the pole for the remainder of the contest time that day (weather permitting).  Hunters must register their deer by 8:00pm, November 27th, to be considered for judging.

All decisions by the judge are final.
